This paper will be written on Emmy Noether (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmy_Noether) a mathematician who’s mathematical work was consequential in physics. This paper should be about how her work was beneficial to physics and how her identity posed a struggle to her success (being a women in that time period) The goal of this project is to explore issues of representation in physics by learning about a physicist from background historically underrepresented in physics. physicist should have completed their work prior to 1950 and you should have something in common with your physicist. (I’m a Caucasian male so please relate her to me in some possible way). In the final project, your research should explore the following questions: Who is this person? What does this individual study? Why is what they study important? What makes this person underrepresented or counter-stereotypical in physics? What was their career path? What hardships did they face? What is at least one thing you have in common with this individual? What is one thing you learned by studying this person about physics, what it means to do physics, or who does physics?
